Acetyl Hexapeptide 3 Review

Lipotec, a Spanish company, manufactures Argireline, the trademark name for Acetyl Hexapeptide 3. Peptides are amino acids, small fragments of proteins, which form the basic building blocks of living tissues. A chain of six amino acids is Hexapeptide, and when they are attached to residue of acetic acid, they form Acetyl Hexapeptide 3, and enable the compound to be absorbed by the skin.
Acetyl Hexapeptide 3 is claimed to be the best alternative to Botox, for relaxing skin. Only the topical application of the ingredient has been tested so far. Argireline is an active ingredient in any anti aging anti wrinkle cream on the market. There anti wrinkle creams like DDF Wrinkle Cream, Athena Wrinkle Cream, Relax-A-Line Topical serum, Lifecell Skin Cream, REVITOL, Clear Lift Ultra, Hydroxatone, Lift SP, IQ Derma, etc. It is said to be a non-toxic amino acid that reduces muscle contractions, without paralyzing or causing toxic side effects.
Facial expressions cause facial muscle to contract. Long repeated contractions of facial muscles tend to cause facial wrinkles. Acetylcholine in the human body acts as the neurotransmitter, sending messages to the muscles to contract. Acetyl Hexapeptide 3 is supposed to block these neurotransmitters unlike Botox, which prevents the muscles from contracting, causing a paralytic effect. When neurotransmitters are blocked, no signal is sent to the muscles to contract. Therefore, when you make a facial expression, the muscle does not receive any signal to contract and this prevents wrinkles from forming.
While Botox can be injected only on the affected parts of the skin, it is claimed that Argireline can be used all over the face, to relax the muscles. Though less expensive than Botox, a cosmetic wrinkle cream using Acetyl Hexapeptide 3, tends to be quite expensive. This could be because of the newbie hype, and can reduce in the future.
The same neurotransmitter that this ingredient blocks is believed to be responsible for the firmness of the skin. So, when it is blocked, then its effect on skin sagging has not been addressed in the benefits of the ingredient. This requires substantiating clinical research and caution, on the part of its users.
A study by International Journal of Cosmetic Science has proved that a 10% concentration of Acetyl Hexapeptide 3 has reduced 30% depth of a wrinkle in a 30-day trial. Lipotec’s test of the compound on cultured muscle tissues has demonstrated a 30% blocking of acetylcholine to muscles. There are tests by Lipotec available on the product’s effectiveness. However, there are no other clinical results or known effects of the compound, in a long-term use.
